What is SCERN?
The South Counties
Emergency Repeater Network is a mutual aid consortium consisting of the
RACES organizations of New Jersey's seven southern counties: Atlantic,
Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem.
The primary mission is to operate a D-Star repeater network capable of
passing voice and data as needed in emergency situations to support the
Southern New Jersey Medical Coordination Center and their served
facilities. This does not preclude our support of County and Local
EOCs as well as other activities. We look
to work cooperatively with ARES and other amateur radio emergency
organizations to develop a cooperative effort in Southern New Jersey.
SCERN was made
possible by the Southern New Jersey Medical Coordination Center with the
support of the seven southern county's Offices of Emergency Management.
